The Stepping Stones Shawl is a beautiful lace patterned shawl that transitions from one lace to another seamlessly. The flowing design is like stepping stones through a river.
The striping used in this pattern is made by using 2 cakes of the same colorway of yarn at the same time, but starting at different colors, and alternating them every second row. This creates a cascading color effect, perfect for this pattern.
The shawl is purposely large. If you’d like a smaller or larger shawl, simply add/subtract repeats of the lace as you see fit.
Gauge is not super important on this project unless you have a very particular sized shawl in mind. Just note that if follow the directions as stated and you use a worsted weight yarn, your shawl will be larger and more plush. If you use a sport weight, it will be smaller (unless you add repeats) and much airier.
Physical pattern. This is not a digital pattern.
