Join Us for the Malabrigo Spring KAL – Orienta Shawl 

STARTS APRIL 3RD IN STORE

We are thrilled to invite you to cast on with us for the Orienta Shawl KAL, featuring the stunning Malabrigo Yarn design Orienta by Cory Boberg.

The KAL begins Friday, April 3rd! We'll be having our Kick Off Party that night from 5pm-9pm! We'll be announcing more on what goodies we'll have soon!

This beautiful shawl is full of movement, texture, and color play. 

Orienta combines graceful shaping with engaging stitchwork, which is perfect for knitters who love watching texture and color interact on their needles.

We have a lot of lovely yarns in store for you to chose from to make your Orienta Shawl, including Malabrigo Sock and Ultimate Sock. And, we've just ordered a lot of exciting new colors from the collection for this KAL.

What You’ll Need

If you are knitting with Malabrigo Sock, you will need:

- 2 skeins Main Color

- 1 skein Contrast Color

The Official KAL is to be knit in Malabrigo Sock.

Joining the KAL in store does not require a commitment to participate in every meeting, and participation does not require purchasing malabrigo yarn or purchasing yarn through the shop.

Knit Along With Us at Fiber & Threads Needlecrafts

While Malabrigo hosts the worldwide KAL, we’ll be gathering right here at Fiber & Threads Needlecrafts for our own weekly meetups! Come join us on Sundays, 1–3pm (throughout the KAL).

Think of it as our hive mind gathering to share progress, compare color choices, work through tricky sections, and of course, cheer each other on!

We’ll also be sharing more details about any special in-store events as we get closer to cast-on day.

It would help us greatly if you signed up for the KAL so we can anticipate how many people we will have for these events!

Pattern Help During the Week

If questions pop up between Sundays, don't worry! Malabrigo has wonderful support in place. There will be:

- A dedicated Ravelry KAL thread

- A Facebook Malabrigo KAL Group

- Weekly Zoom meetings with Jill from @knitsisu

You’ll have access to both the global Malabrigo community and our in-store knit hive.

To be eligible for Malabrigo’s weekly prizes, you must register through their official KAL sign-up form on the Malabrigo website.

- Complete the registration form

- Share a photo of your project on social media using #MalabrigoKAL

- Use the featured Malabrigo yarn

Winners are randomly drawn from registered participants and will be announced in the Malabrigo Facebook Group, on Instagram, and on their website. However, Malabrigo will never ask for credit card or financial information if you win.

All prizes are administered directly by Malabrigo.
